Book Review: "It's Raining In Mango" by Thea Astley

I first read this at high school when I was 17.

I fell in love with it then and revisit it every 4 years or so. It's one of the most amazingly rich works of Australian literature ever, a story that spans 5 generations of a powerful matriarchal family, and over 100 years of history.

Each line is as lush and packed with life as a square inch of the North Queensland landscape it is set in.

It's a wonderful book, and I look forward to reading it for the rest of my life.
